Hello everyone. I hope you are doing well. Today is a big day for me. The third in the Royal Romance series, Royal Court, is out on Amazon and all the usual retailers. The Royal Romance series is very special to me. Before the book came out, I’d been thoroughly enjoying writing fanfic in the Uber Xena/Gabrielle community. I never had much confidence in my writing or me for that matter, but I wanted to try and push myself and see if I could become a published writer. When I thought about what I wanted to write about it was clear that I should write what I enjoy and see if others enjoyed it too. I’d always immersed myself in the regency romance genre, period dramas, and history, and if you love history in the UK then the monarchy is a marker for each stage of British society through the ages. All of those subject’s crossover with royalty and aristocracy, and coincidently it was at that very moment that the British government was passing a new law that male children no longer had precedence to the throne of the United Kingdom. From now on females could inherit the crown, over their brothers, as long as they were born first. This put an idea into my head. I wanted to explore who that first female would be and to top it off imagine that she was openly gay. How cool would that be? Queen Georgina was born and so was the royal romance of Georgie and Bea. I can’t quite believe the story has grown to three books now. I’d have never imagined when I first started to formulate these two characters that it would open up a world of new love stories to write. In this new book I wanted to focus on the royal court, the little village of people that support the royal family and make everything work. And so the royal family along with their new little Princess travel to America on a royal tour, and the court goes with them. Holly Weaver, royal dresser to Queen Bea, and bubbly life of the party, is thrown together with Bea’s new protection officer, the serious, brooding, Captain Quincy. Sparks fly and Holly makes it her mission to make Quincy lighten up and enjoy life but it’s not as easy as she thinks. Quincy is damaged by a mission that went wrong, a mission that won her a medal for bravery, but haunts her. Quincy envies Holly zeal for life, but will Holly be able to break down Captain Quincy’s walls of protection? You’ll need to read to find out. ;-) As always there’s the song of the book, and this one is a goodie. This song was the first on the Royal Court playlist and I listened to it every morning while I started to write. It took me right into Quincy’s head as she watched Holly skipping down the hallway, singing and smiling. www.boldstrokesbooks.com/books/royal-court-by-jenny-frame-2754-bwww.boldstrokesbooks.com/books/royal-court-by-jenny-frame-2754-bI hope you will enjoy Royal Court and especially Holly and Quincy's love story.
