Let's Catch Up...
First of all, apologies for not keeping up with my monthly blogs. As well as the craziness of the world in the last months, I've been trying to keep up with writing and editing my forthcoming books. So I thought it was high time for a catch up. If there's one thing that 2020 has taught me is that in stressful and scary times, books are even more important, as both a reader and a writer,
Books are an escape. They always have been for me. Before I started writing I read and read to lose myself in a world of happy ever afters. Some people say happy ever afters aren't realistic, but I think real life has enough worries and stress itself, without reading about heartbreak too.
Now that I write, I'm able to lose myself even more in love, in the friendship of village romances, the dedication to a mate, in the werewolf books, and the passion in of the vampires.
In May I had a new village romance come out. In Duchess And The Dreamer, the village of Rosebrook is dying a slow death, that is until the super positive and super sweet Evan Fox turns up. Here is the teaser -
Clementine Fitzroy, Duchess of Rosebrook, doesn’t trust dreamers. After her grandmother and famous social reformer blew the family fortune on her dream of creating a new kind of community, the family land was sold off and their coffers drained. Clementine grew up watching her mother struggle and now lives in the small gatehouse behind her former family home.
Evan Fox has a dream that could change the world and save the planet. As CEO of her family toy company, she creates fuel for the imagination. When the Rosebrook estate comes up for sale, Evan jumps at the chance to make her vision of a utopian eco community come to life.
Clementine is wary of the good-looking newcomer, but Evan is determined to win over the beautiful duchess and prove that sometimes dreams really do come true.
The second project I've been a part of this year is an anthology called, Still Not Over you. In it I had the honour of writing alongside Carsen Taite and Ali Vali. The theme was that ex that you never got over, and in my short story, My Forever Girl, I got the chance to write two lovely characters, Brayden and Faith, who were torn apart by tragedy. This was a chance to give them the happy ever after they deserved. Here's the teaser -
Old flames die hard in these tales of a second chance at love with the ex you’re still not over. Stories by award winning authors Jenny Frame, Carsen Taite, and Ali Vali.
In My Forever Girl by Jenny Frame, when tragedy tore their family apart, Brayden and Faith’s marriage ended in divorce. Four years later, they’re thrown together on a cruise by their friends. Can the spark that refused to die reignite the fire of their love?
In Double Jeopardy by Carsen Taite, Katie James didn’t plan on being a runaway bride. Twice. But when the gorgeous, accomplished, former love of her life, Emma Reed, reappears in her life the week of her wedding, will Katie risk everything for another chance with the woman who might be her soul mate?
In On the Rocks by Ali Vali, whiskey distiller Preston Maxwell still has no idea why her college sweetheart, Hayley Wyatt, disappeared from her life right after collecting her diploma. But when Hayley shows up to work on the advertising campaign that will take her business to the next level, Preston isn’t letting her get away a second time.
My last release this year will be the sequel of my vampire series, Hunger For You. It's called Longing For You, and is Alexis's love story. So there's lots and lots of love stories to escape to in these strange and stressful times.

Hello from Scotland!
I love the depiction of the quintessential English village in novels, TV, and film. I’m a big fan of regency romance, and Agatha Christie, both of which tend to have the big country house as the focal point of the stories, then the surrounding village with all its wonderful and strange characters.
I first explored village life with my Courting The Countess series. When I wrote the third and final book, Wooing The Farmer, I didn’t want to leave village life behind, just explore a different kind of village.
In The Duchess And The Dreamer, Clementine Fitzroy, the Duchess Of Rosebrook, is in the difficult position of having a title but no land, and no money.
People often think that those blessed with titles and a grand family history, to be rich and powerful, but in this modern world that is not always the case. Over the years the land and family homes of a good portion of British aristocrats, leaked money.
Large out of date country estates are expensive to keep. Many sell off their land piece by piece just to keep up with repairs and taxes. But Clementine’s family had been luckier than most, and her grandmother inherited a very rich estate, and a lot of money.
Her grandmother Isadora was a woman full of dreams, inspired by those great 19th century British social reformers like Elizabeth Fry, Baroness Angela Burdett-Coutts, and Robert Owen, who all in different ways wanted to build a better fairer society.
Unfortunately stubbornly chasing that dream bankrupted the family, and by the time Clementine was a young girl and her father inherited, the money was gone, along with most of the land, which was sold off to pay debts. Watching the stress and strain of her parents trying to keep the family afloat, had a big effect on Clementine, and her resentment of her grandmother grew.
Then when her father died and the family home sold off, Clementine was left with living in the former gatehouse and, as she saw it, a useless title.
The villagers still looked to the Duchess as thier community leader but she had not the means to do anything, like make repairs on village housing or buildings. The title had become a milestone around her neck. Unfortunately there was no abdicating her title, unless she committed a felony or died, so she was stuck with it. Dreams had cost her family dear.
Evan Fox runs her family toy business, but her real passion is saving the world. An ardent environmentalist, she believes dreaming is the only way society learns from its past and moves on to better things. Evan’s hero is Isadora Fitzroy, and although Isadora’s dream failed, she admired everything she stood far.
Along with fair wages, decent housing, and community spaces for the people, Evan wants to build a safe place for the LGBTQ community, and others marginalised in society. On top of that Evan has the dream to build a village based on environmental principles, as an example to the world on how we can live in harmony with the natural world.
But...to win over the suspicious farmers and villagers to her dream, she needs the Duchess on board. The Duchess who doesn’t believe in dreams. So it's up to Evan to prove to Clementine that dreams really can come true... ;-)
Someone To Love...
I'm happy to say the sequel to Unexpected is out today on Amazon. Someone To Love tells the love story of Davina Trent, the ex who tried to cause a little strife between Dale and Becca in the first book. Trent had a disagreeable character but was someone whom Becca had loved at one point in her life, and I wanted to dig deeper and get under the skin of the hot shot lawyer.
For me it's all about the backstory. I love to work out the why a character behaves the way they do, and Trent was a wonderful example of that.
What lies beneath Trent's tough shell is a woman with a broken heart, for a few reasons, and a woman scared to get hurt.
One night her life turns upside down when her cousin dies in a car crash leaving her the custody of his two children. Children were the last thing Trent ever thought she wanted and she resists the calling to be the guardian for Alice and little Noah, but in the end realises she has to do the right thing, and brings them to stay, but she can't run a successful legal career and look after two children.
Enter Wendy Darling, nanny with a knack of fixing families and putting them back together. When she starts work and sees how dysfunctional Trent and the children's relationship is, she sets out to build bridges. The initially prickly Trent grows on her, as Trent's true character is coaxed out of her but by bit, but along the way Wendy didn't expect to fall for the children and her much older boss.
With the help of Trent's now best friends, Dale and Becca, can Trent open her heart and find Someone To love? Check out the links to the book below to find out...

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well. This month see the release of my new book, Blood Of The Pack. It's available today on Amazon, the Bold Strokes Books website, and all the usual online stores.
Blood Of The Pack is the third in the Wolfgang County series. I'm very excited about this book because in it we get to meet the Scottish Wolfpack, the Wulvers. The Wolfgangs and almost all of the North American wolves draw their ancestors from the British and Irish Wolfpack's, and still hold a fierce blood loyalty to them.
The First part of the book takes place in Wolfgang County and then we go to the lush, wild forests of the highlands of Scotland. The Wulver's business is Whiskey, and their distillery provides Wulver malt whiskey all over the world. Kenrick Wulver has a good life, good friends and family-the only thing she doesn't have is a mate. Will she find one in Wolfgang County?
Here's the blurb -
As the new Alpha of the Scottish Wulver pack, Kenrick Wulver has a bright future ahead. All she needs is her destined mate to share it with. Zaria Lupa isn’t looking for love. She’s been on the run from Leroux, Alpha of the American Lupa pack, ever since Leroux killed her sister.
When the Lupa wolves find Zaria, she runs to Wolfgang County for protection, where Kenrick is visiting her friend Dante. Kenrick takes Zaria under her wing, showing her the care and attention she’s never experienced. Zaria refuses to believe she is Kenrick’s destined mate. To her, mating is just an excuse for abuse and control, no matter how kind Kenrick may seem.
When Kenrick convinces Zaria to come to Scotland to visit the Wulver pack, she hopes for a fresh start. But the Lupa wolves aren’t finished with Zaria, and their revenge may destroy any chance at love?

Axedale And Audiobooks...
Hello! I hope everyone is doing well. I'm happy to say that the third in the Axedale series, Wooing The Farmer, is now out on Amazon and all the usual retailers. I loved writing Quade and Penny's love story. Quade needed her happy ever after and Penny needed someone to love her.
If you want to get an idea of who Penny is, then take a listen to the song below. It could have been written for Penny and was the first song I played every morning when I started to write the book.
Penelope Huntingdon-Stewart, highly successful clean-eating food vlogger and owner of the website Penny’s Kitchen, is looking for a new direction for her brand. At least that’s what she tells herself when she retreats to Axedale to record a new web series and write a cookbook. That sounds so much better than damage control after her only live, on-screen interview ends in an oh-so-public epileptic seizure.
Farmer Sam McQuade is immediately attracted to Penelope, but the ultra femme and high maintenance city girl seems way out of her league. When Penelope struggles to get her health on track, Quade insists on being her knight in shining armor, much to Penelope’s displeasure. Quade is annoyingly good-looking, not to mention kindhearted, and falling for her would be so easy. If only it didn’t force Penelope to face the secrets she’s hidden from everyone. Can love alone bring a complex city girl and a simple rural farmer together?
Another piece of good news is that the audiobook of Royal Court is now out on Audible. You can listen to a sample at the link here.... Royal Court Audible
Captain Quincy is a steady and reliable Royal Marines officer, decorated for gallantry after a mission that nearly killed her and the men under her command. At a crossroads in her career, Quincy reluctantly accepts when her old comrade, Queen Georgina, asks her to join the Royal Protection Command as the Queen Consort’s new protection officer.
Holly Weaver, Royal Dresser and self-confessed man-eater, starts to question her sexuality when she has a girl-crush on famous actor, Story St. John and, then, polo player and friend of George’s, Captain Quincy.
The good-looking captain’s emotionless personality is the opposite of Holly’s exuberant lust for life. When a threat to the Queen Consort emerges, Quincy and Holly clash over the best way to protect her. As the fiery passion they can’t deny begins to melt Quincy’s heart, Holly must decide how much of her own she is willing to risk.
I hope you will enjoy these two editions to both series. See you next month, cheerio!
And Baby Makes Three...
Hello everyone. I hope you are doing well.
Today is a big day for me. The third in the Royal Romance series, Royal Court, is out on Amazon and all the usual retailers. The Royal Romance series is very special to me. Before the book came out, I’d been thoroughly enjoying writing fanfic in the Uber Xena/Gabrielle community.
I never had much confidence in my writing or me for that matter, but I wanted to try and push myself and see if I could become a published writer. When I thought about what I wanted to write about it was clear that I should write what I enjoy and see if others enjoyed it too.
I’d always immersed myself in the regency romance genre, period dramas, and history, and if you love history in the UK then the monarchy is a marker for each stage of British society through the ages. All of those subject’s crossover with royalty and aristocracy, and coincidently it was at that very moment that the British government was passing a new law that male children no longer had precedence to the throne of the United Kingdom. From now on females could inherit the crown, over their brothers, as long as they were born first.
This put an idea into my head. I wanted to explore who that first female would be and to top it off imagine that she was openly gay. How cool would that be?
Queen Georgina was born and so was the royal romance of Georgie and Bea. I can’t quite believe the story has grown to three books now. I’d have never imagined when I first started to formulate these two characters that it would open up a world of new love stories to write.
In this new book I wanted to focus on the royal court, the little village of people that support the royal family and make everything work. And so the royal family along with their new little Princess travel to America on a royal tour, and the court goes with them. Holly Weaver, royal dresser to Queen Bea, and bubbly life of the party, is thrown together with Bea’s new protection officer, the serious, brooding, Captain Quincy.
Sparks fly and Holly makes it her mission to make Quincy lighten up and enjoy life but it’s not as easy as she thinks. Quincy is damaged by a mission that went wrong, a mission that won her a medal for bravery, but haunts her. Quincy envies Holly zeal for life, but will Holly be able to break down Captain Quincy’s walls of protection? You’ll need to read to find out. ;-)
As always there’s the song of the book, and this one is a goodie. This song was the first on the Royal Court playlist and I listened to it every morning while I started to write. It took me right into Quincy’s head as she watched Holly skipping down the hallway, singing and smiling.

Hello and happy December!
First and foremost, my apologies for lack of a blog over the last few months. I’ve been deep in my writing bunker finishing up the third in the Wolfgang series, Blood Of The Pack.
This is the first in my exploration of the British and Irish wolfpacks. In Blood Of The Pack we meet the cousins of the Wolfgangs, the Wulver pack.
It was great writing about a wolfpack in my own homeland. We have such a wealth of history, myth, and mystical creatures in Britain and Ireland, and there is so much to draw on, that it made it so much fun to build a new wolf world in the highlands of Scotland, and write Kenrick Wulver and Zaria Lupa’s love story.
The Wulvers are great friends to the Wolfgangs, but they very much have their own identity, history, and connection to the land. I’ll blog more about the Wulver’s in the run up to their release on August 1st, 2019, but for now you can check out the blurb and book here – Blood Of The Pack
As always with me there’s one song on my writing playlist that epitomises the book I’m writing, and I think that’s even more the case with the Wulver’s story. The song at the bottom of the page is what I played over and over while writing Blood Of The Pack, and I think it gives you an excellent sense of the atmosphere of the story and the Wulvers.
So, I have to say it was fun and goodbye to Kenrick and Zaria, I now move onto writing the sequel to Unexpected, Someone To Love. It will be fantastic to drop in on Dale, Becca, and the gang again.
It’s not long now until the third book in the royal romance series, Royal Court, comes out. You can preorder now at the link below. It will be out in paperback, ebook, and Audiobook from January 1st.
If you have any comments or questions about my books or characters, please leave them below and I’ll get back to you.
See you next month!
