The Wolves Are Howling And An Unexpected Surprise...

First of all I must apologize for the lateness of this blog. July has been such a busy month. I’ve been visiting Axedale village, finishing up Wooing The Farmer—AKA Quade’s story.
It’s been so nice to be in Axedale again and giving Quade her love story, but I’m ready for my next adventure, which is related to some of the news in this month’s blog.
But first I was delighted to find out that my book, Unexpected had won a Goldie award. It was extra special to me because Dale was a character very close to me heart. She was from Glasgow and I was able to slip in some local colour, which was fun. Thank you to the judges and all  the readers who supported the book.
It was also a coincidence that I had just signed a contract with Bold Strokes Books for a sequel to Unexpected. It’s called Someone To Love—An Unexpected Romance, and it’ll be a lot of fun to check in on Dale, Becca and their family.
My second bit of news concerns the wolves of Wolfgang County. I know it’s been a long time since the first book, but on August 1st the second book, Soul Of The Pack is coming out.
Here’s the blurb--
Wolf expert Maddox “Ripp” Rippington knows nothing about her past and has only ever felt at home among her wolves at Willow Creek Wolf Sanctuary. When the Sanctuary is shut down, she’s lost. The only clue to her past is a birth certificate with the name Ansel Wolfgang on it, but she has never been brave enough to track her father down. Until now.
Kindergarten teacher Kyra Wolfgang is more than attracted to the mysterious human who arrives in Wolfgang County, a human as dominant and confident as any wolf she has ever met. For the first time in her life, Kyra knows the passion she has always longed for. But with the Wolfgang Alpha and Second distrustful of Ripp’s sudden appearance and her claim of a connection to the pack, does Kyra and Ripp’s love stand a chance?

The good news is that although there’s been a long wait for a new wolfgang book, the wolves are about to get busy. In 2019 there’s going to be a third Wolf book called, Blood Of The Pack. I’m very excited about this book, because it’s going to expand the world of Wolfgang County in all sorts of exciting directions…I hope.
So my book schedule, for those that are interested, is--
2019 -
Royal Court
Wooing The Farmer
Blood Of The Pack

Someone To Love—An Unexpected Romance 19/20

It’s enough to keep me busy! Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you all next month. :-)

Hey so far I love your books and congratulations on your latest award, but I do have a question. On some of your work, sometimes I can't help but notice that they often have set roles with the Butch/Fem dynamic. While it's good that you have these roles I often feel like they are not representing the lbgt community presently, forgive me I'm from California in the US, but the Butch/Fem dynamic is not what's currently happening within the community so I often feel disconnected, although it's presently still around with the older members of the community. While I still love your stories and I consider them to be really good ,I often feel that the dynamic that you put around the Butch/ Fem relationships does not give the character enough personality that I could relate to. Now I don't have a problem with the Butch/Fem dynamic, still I can't help but have questions what I'm trying to ask is how are you going to enhance your characters personalities outside of their Butch/ Fem roles? Also will there be main characters with people of color within your books in the future to come ?

Hi Zero,
Thanks for your question. The reason I started writing was that I could hardly find any romance books that represented my experience, as a femme woman, who is attracted to butch women. I wanted to write for the underrepresented section of the LGBT community that was butch/femme. After I published my first stories online, I got countless emails from old and young people thanking me for writing in this genre. They, more often than not butch women, explained to me that they often felt unable to be themselves in their own LGBT communities because of the often negative reaction of their peers. So I fly the flag for them and try to show their is s spectrum of people in the lesbian community. Some people are just naturally more masculine than others, and I want to support them and encourage them to be themselves. You will find a range of different butches in my books that reflects that spectrum, because no two people are the same, but they all share the same quality, they are confident in themselves and who they are, and the femmes that love them encourage them, not try to change them.
Another reason for writing these characters is that I, my partner, and friends, have felt that same prejudice, that those who've emailed me, have. I have bee ridiculed for finding butches attractive and my partner has felt even more judgement and ridicule all through her life for being herself-a naturally masculine woman. So that is why I feel it is important and I will always be a cheerleader for butch women in particular.
Yes there are many people of colour in my forthcoming books, and in particular the main character in my werewolf book, Blood Of The Pack.
I hope that has answered your questions.
Thanks!
Jenny :-)

Wow, I can't believe Unexpeced is going to have a sequel, when I finished reading it for the 2nd time I was thinking about how would be great to get a sequel and it will! Also, since I got unexpected 2 weeks ago, I started buying your books, I already read Unexpected, Courting the Countess and I just started with A Royal Romance, little by little I'll get there where I've read all of your books. I like paperbacks, so it gets a little expensive sometimes, but my wife likes to buy me those, so...
So, just wanted to said thank you, I love your books and between you, Emma Esterner-Radley and A.E. Radley, I'm going to be all into british slang and terms, since I'm googling everything I don't understand, like the wee man/wee yin Dale uses on Unexpected (even though those are Scothish terms).

Hi Arianna,
Thank you. That means a lot. There'll be loads more Scottish terms in my next werewolf book, Blood Of The Pack. It features a wolf pack in the highlands of Scotland, and there are differences between that way of speaking and Dale's, which you might find interesting. :-)
